January Workshop
Monday, January 12, Orientation from 1:00-3:00 pm or 7:00-9:00 pm (you choose which you prefer)
Saturdays (two), January 17 and 24 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
April workshop
Monday, April 13, Orientation from 1:00-3:00 pm or 7:00-9:00 pm (you choose which you prefer)
Saturdays (two), April 18 and August 1 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
July workshop
Monday, July 13,Orientation from 1:00-3:00 pm or 7:00-9:00 pm (you choose which you prefer)
Saturdays (two), July 18 and August 1 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
October workshop
Monday, October 5, Orientation from 1:00-3:00 pm or 7:00-9:00 pm (you choose which you prefer)
Saturdays (two), October 10 and 17, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
ATTENDANCE AT THE ORIENTATION IS MANDATORY AND ATTENDANCE AT ALL SESSIONS IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO BE CERTIFIED. A $5.00 workshop registration fee is due at the time of registration to help defray costs of the workshop. A short lunch break will be taken on Saturday so a sack lunch is recommended.
It is not necessary to have any previous teaching experience to participate in this program. With the Laubach method (our core curriculum), if you can read, you can teach. You may teach someone you already know, you may be paired with a student from our waiting list, or you may, after discussions with and approval of the Staff decide to teach a small group of students.
All books necessary to teach the students you are matched with will be provided by the Center. These are provided through grant funds received by the Center. However, if grant funds are not available at a future date, tutors may be asked to purchase the necessary books and materials.
