The mission of the Adult Reading Center is to provide free instruction to adults with limited English literacy skills.
We provide a nurturing environment that improves reading, writing and basic communication skills in order to help equip:

• Parents with the language skills needed to empower their children

• All adults with the language skills needed to succeed in the workplace

We do this by providing classroom instruction, individual tutoring, and computer-based training. We partner with community organizations that provide opportunities to transition into career training.

One of every five adults in the United States has such low English literacy skills that he/she cannot read well enough to properly cope with every day situations.

The Adult Reading Center recognizes these problems and provides services free of charge to adults 18 years and older through classroom or small group instruction and one-on-one tutoring along with a computer learning lab.
